Sensicon, who are a resident member at Sensor City and specialise in Smart City Applications, have recently won a Knowledge Innovation Voucher with a team of Civil Engineering academics from the University of Liverpool.
Their project – Motionwalls – is aimed at using sensors to monitor the movement of critical infrastructure, such as retaining walls along highways.
This will allow public bodies such as Highways England to respond to structural issues proactively, avoid the closure of roads and prevent loss of revenue to the country’s economy.
Sensicon also have a number of other projects in the pipeline, and a PhD student will be joining them at their office from January.
