As the weeks unfold, and more information becomes available, we will be sharing the Local Growth Hub’s series of blogs which collate top resources from local and national sources, to help you build awareness of the support available and how you can support frontline staff.

Call for PPE Equipment

Liverpool City Region Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram has launched an urgent call for donations of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for frontline key workers supporting the region’s most vulnerable people during the coronavirus crisis.

The equipment needed is:

  • Hand sanitiser (at least 70 per cent alcohol based)
  • Disposable gloves
  • Disposable aprons
  • Protective face masks
  • Protective eye goggles
  • Protective gowns
  • Clinical waste bags

Donations are hugely welcomed but payment can be arranged for suppliers of suitable products provided in significant volumes to meet current requirements.

Growth Platform Helpline

In these challenging circumstances, we understand the need to talk directly to someone to help make sense of the uncertainty. This is why their #HereToHelp team are on hand to assist businesses that have been affected by COVID-19. Please do get in touch by calling 01517051985 and they will do their best to assist.

Local information hubs and helplines have also been set up across the region by Wirral ChamberSt Helen’s ChamberKnowsley ChamberHalton Chamber and Sefton Council, Please do get in touch with your local partners.

Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram’s support package

Steve Rotheram, Metro Mayor of Liverpool City Region has announced tailored business support for socially trading organisations. The package will see a £65,000 support fund to help those cope with the impact of COVID-19. You can read the full details of the announcement here.

In addition, the Metro Mayor has launched the ‘LCR Cares COVID-19 Community Support Fund’, a crowdfunding campaign to support community and voluntary organisations on the frontline. It is a crucial time to promote unity among local businesses and support them so they can work together to tackle this challenging time head on.

IoD Coronavirus support hub

IoD have developed a Coronavirus support hub, designed to provide businesses with the latest advice, information and resources necessary to support them. The site brings together a community of global directors, giving those businesses leaders the ability to lead their teams clearly and effectively during this time of uncertainty.

With so much misinformation being distributed, it is key for Coronavirus support pages to ensure they have reliable resources. IoD are in direct contact with the government to not only provide their readers with verified information, but to also give the government feedback from local businesses.

The CBI Coronavirus Support hub

The CBI is developing a series of webinars on Coronavirus, providing insight and analysis as to how businesses can best navigate the outbreak. The webinars provide visual and engaging advice pieces, which are clearly broken down into specific topics so businesses can easily access the advice they need.

The website also gives users a chance to reach out to their advisors for direct support. It also allows businesses to get in touch regarding what action must be taken which they will feedback to central government to ensure their actions and measures are timely and effective.

Navigating Uncertainty with Form – video series

Form Studio has developed a 4-part video series as to how businesses can best navigate these uncertain times. Their key message is to help businesses Survive, Stabilise and Sustain.

The short, engaging clips include tips as to how business can manage their numbers and cash flow during the crisis, as well as providing ideas for growth beyond the crisis. The videos each come with a free corresponding google sheet, to help businesses take action on the advice given.

Business Survey

The Growth Platform have been surveying local businesses on a weekly basis to ensure they are providing what is needed.
