The University of Liverpool is holding a symposium to examine palliative care, design, architecture and technology to explore the opportunities to improve health through optimisation of technology and living spaces.

This is important because it is predicted that in the UK by 2040 there will be an increase of palliative care, with care homes becoming the most common place of death.

Consequently, action is need to explore how we can use technology, design and architecture to improve the ability of care for people in their living environments.

This symposium will bring together researchers from different backgrounds to develop research methodology, to explore how architecture, design and technology can improve quality of life for people with palliative care needs. Several speakers across a range of disciplines have been confirmed.
